June Update: 2004

[Insert your own lame joke about polititions spending too much money] Eventually you have to do something with all that stuff you've been spending money on and here's what we've done: The main fuse panel in place, mounted to a sheet of lucite. We have two ignition modules so we can quickly switch over if one goes south on us. The fuse block is out of some junkyard donor and what you see was literally sawn off a bigger one. The copper connectors are all hand made. Development is all over the place. So many aspects of the car need work that a lot of it is being done in parallel.

  • The net release (which I hear we decided not to use).
The batteries are finally wired and power is routed all the way up front (1, 2, 3).
  • The doors have their inner panels mounted.
  • Lots of time was spent getting the harness just right (Thanks to Barry Larson for coming up to see what we've been up to and giving us some valuable advice!) (1, 2, 3, 4 [sparks!]).
  • The Slant 6 oil pump conversion is finally in there (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). Look for a future page devoted to this with all of the proper people credited.
  • Greg poses with a mockup of the net (1, 2).
  • The rear fenders have a coat of rust prevetion on the inside.
  • The tunnel finally gets a test fitting.
  • The distributor is in and the timing gets a look.
